MAG 254 vs MAG 256 vs MAG 322 - Review of the MAG box series

little about IPTV boxes, chances are you already know a little about the MAG box. The MAG box is an android OS tv box made by Infomir.

It is one of the most reliable tv boxes out there in the market today and is well known for its smooth operation and fluid performance when hooked up to a tv.

There are three different MAG boxes in the Infomir MAG box series, and in this review of MAG box, we’ll be comparing each of these to help you make a better choice for your IPTV needs.

When it comes to buying a tv box, there are just a few important things that you might want to consider before making a purchase. This includes the processing power of the box, the RAM and the flash power.

There are many other things which you might want to consider before making a purchase such as the size, build quality, inbuilt Wi-Fi and so on. Still, the formerly listed features are the most important as a little change in any of the above will affect your entertainment experience. This is because the more processing power your box has, the smoother the experience will be, and the faster your menu will load.

MAG 254 and 256 review

The MAG 254 is the very first in the MAG series produced by Infomir. Even though being an older device, the MAG 254 is still very popular among streaming enthusiasts due in part to its remarkable build and more due to its seamless performance.

The MAG 256 is the successor of the MAG 254, and just like the MAG 254, it is well built with increased performance capability and seamless integration with IPTV services. Being the successor of the MAG 254, the MAG 256 comes with some improvements and features that are rather absent in the MAG 254. The difference, however, is not that much, and you might still be better off with the MAG 254 if you don’t want to cross your budget for a streaming device.

For instance, the MAG 254 comes with a 512MB RAM whereas the MAG 256 comes with a 1GB RAM – almost double the predecessor’s RAM – this combined with the MAG 256 ARM Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.5GHz is bound to give it more multitasking and quicker load time compared to the MAG 254 STiH 207 processor.

MAG 254 comes with a meagre 256MB flash memory which is considerably lower than the flash memory of the MAG 256’s 512MB flash memory.

In all the MAG 256 is a reasonable upgrade to the MAG 254 in terms of performance, speed and fluid operation. While the MAG 254 will offer you seamless streaming service, the MAG 256 boost of more processing power and ability to take you over the edge.

MAG 322

On the surface and in terms of build quality and design, all three of the MAG boxes may seem similar but that as far as the similarity goes. Beyond the surface, the three android boxes in Infomir MAG series are quite different and differs in their performance.

The MAG 322 is the latest streaming device from Infomir and succeeds both MAG 254 and the MAG 256. The device comes with some reasonable upgrade in the features of the predecessors and as well cost more in market value.

The MAG 322 comes with a 512MB RAM – which is a significant decrease from that of the 256, but it comes with a dual-core 750mhz CPU processor which is clocked at 2.4GHz. This high efficient CPU increases the processing power of the MAG 322 and makes it faster and smoother than its predecessors.

The MAG 322 is the latest and one of the best android boxes in the market. But if you are looking to cut cost and still get that fluid performance and more importantly, access to your IPTV, you should consider going for either the MAG 254 or 256 as both are very good device and will give you a run for your money.
